For Older People...

We offer NHS screening checks, annual medication checks. We have a pharmacist who works in the practice. You can request longer appointments and home visits if needed. We also offer blood tests & other home checks for house bound patients. For people with long term conditions we offer individual care plans and meet regularly with District Nurses & Community matrons. Our practice Community Support Worker will also visit people at home and offer social support.

For Working People...

We have appointments from 7.00am for those before work and up to 6 o'clock in the evening. We also open on Saturdays. We offer NHS health checks, screening for diabetes, high cholesterol and blood pressure problems.

For Families...

We offer all routine vaccinations and the flu jab. All young babies have a full check up, We have early and late appointments before and after school. We have regular meetings and work closely with the Midwives and Health Visitors.

For Vulnerable People...

We do annual full checks for any patient with a learning disability. We have a hearing aid attachment at our reception. All patients can ask for a longer appointment if needed. We have a community support worker who will visit people at home and offer social support.

Patients with a mental health problem...

We have a mental health worker who works with patients in the practice, all patients with a mental health problem are offered an annual health check, we work closely with the local community mental health team

Welcome to Tramways Medical Centre…

If you would find it more convenient or when we are busy we can offer you an appointment at one of our Hub practices. These are staffed by other local GPS. Our local Hub is at Crookes Practice and offers appointment form 1800-2130 in the week and 1000-1730 on Saturday and Sunday. These appointments are also available over bank holidays and festive periods. Other Hubs are also available thought the city located at The Health Care Surgery, Sloan Medical Centre, Woodhouse Health Centre, the Flowers Health centre and Burncross Surgery. In line with new GP contract requirements, patients registered at the practice will be assigned a named GP,
this is for administration purposes only, and you will still be able to see any GP at the surgery.

Should you need advice from one of the Doctors a member of the reception team will take your details and phone you back.

We are conveniently situated on several bus routes and on the Supertram route. There is car parking for patients in front of the building and suitable access for disabled patients.

The Pharmacy is situated at the entrance to the forecourt.


Patient Participation Group

We welcome any feedback on our services. If you have advice on how we can improve please let us know. We also have a formalPatient participation group,” that we contact regularly for advice on how to improve our service. We are always looking for new members of our group. If you are interested please speak to our receptionists. This group represents all our patients and we try to make it as representative of our practice population as possible.

The practice has a formal complaints procedure, if you do have any reason to complain please ask to speak to the Practice Manager or any of the Doctors.


How To Register

You do not need an appointment to register with the practice. Please just enquire at reception.

All new patients are offered a new patient check.  This gives us the chance to get up to date with your medical history and also carry out a brief medical check.
